According to the Statistical Committee of Armenia, 946,162 foreign tourists visited the country in the first half of 2024, marking a 6.1% decrease compared to the same period last year.
Among the visitors, the majority were men (553,836), while female tourists numbered 392,326. The most numerous age group consisted of travelers aged 36-63 (488,544), while the least represented group was tourists aged 16-17 (9,803).
Russia remained the leader in terms of tourist numbers (395,688), despite a 23.8% decline in arrivals. Georgia ranked second (126,927, up by 10.2%), and Iran came third (69,252, up by 18.3%).
A significant number of tourists also came from India, the USA, the Philippines, Ukraine, and several European countries. Interestingly, some countries, such as Angola, Burundi, and Eritrea, each had only one tourist visit Armenia.
Meanwhile, the number of Armenian tourists traveling abroad increased by 9.4%, reaching 705,105.
