Company "Gorgia", which imports 60,000 types of products from different countries of the world, including China and India, talks about the shipping cost growth. The executive director of the company states that the company still has stocks and the price increase will not occur at this stage. But, if the situation does not improve, the prices of products will increase in the next 2-3 months due to the growth in transportation.

"We have a whole list of suppliers from China, India and European countries. Recent events have shown us that the logistics costs for products that are manufactured in China and India have increased dramatically. We used to buy a container in the range of USD 1800-2000, today this costs USD 7000-8000. It also coincided with the Chinese New Year, productions are sometimes closed for 2-3 weeks, and during this period the demand for containers decreases sharply. The increased demand and long logistics routes have changed the costs more.

Indian prices have also changed. If we used to have a 20-foot container for USD 1,200, now a 20-foot container costs about USD 4,000. We have to assume that the prices of those products that come with increased transportation costs will definitely increase, we are talking about the products that come from China and India", says Tornike Guruli, executive director of "Gorgia".
