On January 15, 2026, TAV Georgia, a member of ADP, extended its management contract for Tbilisi International Airport for five more years, now lasting until the end of 2031. Under the renewed agreement, TAV Georgia will invest $150 million in expanding the airport, increasing its size by 20,000 sq.m to a total of 57,000 sq.m, adding new infrastructure and services for passengers.

TAV Georgia’s General Manager, Tea Zakaradze, highlighted that the contract extension ensures stability for 1,950 employees and provides long-term security for airport operations, noting the airport’s growth from 546,000 passengers in 2005 to 5.4 million in 2025. Tea Zakaradze emphasized that passenger experience, employee welfare, and state interests were key factors in the negotiations.

For passengers, the changes mean improved infrastructure, enhanced services, and better facilities. For the state, the contract increases revenues: a $25 million one-time concession fee will be paid immediately, and annual concession payments will also rise, reflecting greater financial obligations to attract new airlines to Georgia.

Regarding the future Vaziani International Airport, Zakaradze confirmed TAV Georgia’s ongoing interest in potentially operating it after its completion. While construction has not yet started, the company intends to participate in operations once the Tbilisi contract ends, ensuring continuity and expertise in airport management.
