TAV Georgia General Manager Tea Zakaradze says that both Tbilisi and Batumi airports are experiencing strong growth this year, with passenger numbers projected to surpass 6 million in total by the end of 2025.

According to Zakaradze, Tbilisi International Airport alone is expected to handle 5.3 million passengers, while Batumi Airport will close the year with around 1.2 million.

“This year we have a very successful and positive dynamic. Passenger flow at Tbilisi International Airport will increase to 5.3 million, and Batumi will close with 1.2 million passengers. These are impressive numbers, especially compared to 2005, when Tbilisi served only 550,000 passengers and Batumi just 30,000,” Zakaradze noted.

She highlighted Georgian Airways and Turkish Airlines as the two largest carriers operating from Tbilisi Airport, with Georgian Airways currently in first place.

TAV Georgia, which operates both airports, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
