A bridge will connect Dadiani Street and Station Square. According to a market study announced by Tbilisi City Hall on March 19, the bridge, with a total length of 280 meters, will be spiral, starting from Dadiani Street and ending at Station Square.
The project for the junction, which was prepared in cooperation with the World Bank, was announced by Kakha Kaladze in April last year. At that time, Kaladze said that the project involves the renovation of the station square and the creation of a road connection that will give priority to public transport.
The new bridge will be designed for mixed traffic, although priority will be given to public transport. Moreover, the City Hall writes that during peak hours the bridge will be used only for public transport.
According to the explanatory note, after the project is implemented, the bridge should be able to handle 800 vehicles per hour in one direction.
