"We need full alignment of our policies with NATO and EU member states in order to solidify our place and role in the Middle Corridor," Tina Khidasheli, the chairwoman of the Civic Idea, told TV program "Analytics".
According to her, the Middle Corridor is not being properly utilized and this is the main problem.
"The Middle Corridor will not go anywhere and will not disappear, it is about how much it will be the main reliable path for the West. How intensively its potential will be utilized and used. The main problem of the Middle Corridor is that its potential is not being properly utilized and used. All this does not depend on Georgia from the beginning to the end, Turkey's positioning is important. The choice that Turkey makes, whether in favor of Georgia or not, will largely determine our role and function.

The interest of the middle corridor for us goes through several layers, and among them is regional trade. One of the biggest burdens we can benefit from is regional trade, and the Anaklia port's role is important there," said Tina Khidasheli.
