The Unit Value Index of Agricultural Products decreased by 3.0 percent compared to the previous quarter. The change was mainly due to a 7.1 percent decrease in the unit value of live animals and animal products, which contributed -3.99 percentage points to the total index change, - according to the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
As of the document, compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous year, the Unit Value Index of Agricultural Products decreased by 4.6 percent. The latter was largely caused by the 25.2% decrease in the unit value of non-perennial crops, which contributed -5.22 percentage points to the total index change.
In the same period, the unit value of perennial crops went up by 4.3%, with the relevant contribution of 1.18 percentage points to the total index change.
