Toll Revenues Hit A Record High In may

Land freight transportation hit a record high in the Georgian corridor. Georgian corridor handled 41,307 trucks in May. Toll revenues were also record-breaking, exceeding GEL 8,261 million in just one month.

According to the data of 5 months, the state budget received GEL 31.468 million from freight transportation, the increase made up 20.8% or 5.4 million GEL y-o-y.

Road toll paid by trucks / 2022:

January - 26,742 trucks / GEL 5,348,454
February - 30,493 trucks / GEL 6,098,630
March - 24,780 trucks / GEL 4 956 096
April - 34,021 trucks / GEL 6 804 201
May - 41,307 trucks/GEL 8,261,368

The Georgian government has increased the toll for thousands of transit trailers from June 20, so each trailer will have to pay GEL 350 instead of GEL 200.

The main factor in the redirection of trucks in the Georgian corridor is the Russia-Ukraine war.
