In the first quarter of 2021, Russian ice cream exports grew by more than 60%. The main driver of the growth was the supply of ice cream to the United States, which increased 3.7 times to 1.9 thousand tons in the amount of US$ 4.7 million.

In January-March 2021, Russia exported 5.6 thousand tons of ice cream, which is 13% more than the same period last year. Export revenue increased 61% to US$ 14 million, reads the recent data of AGROEXPORT, of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.
Pursuant to the Center, the growth was mainly due to the increase in shipments to non-CIS countries. China is the second importer, having increased imports by 43% to 576 tons in physical terms and by 66% to 2.6 million US dollars in value. In March 2021, China once again expanded the list of Russian ice cream suppliers, as a result of which, according to the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision (Rosselkhoznadzor) data, 48 enterprises have the right to export.
Measured by volume exports to Kazakhstan in January-February decreased by 57% to 986 tons, the value - by 17% to US$ 2 million. As a result, Kazakhstan currently occupies 3rd place among importers of Russian ice cream.
Also in the top 5 importers are Mongolia and Ukraine - traditional buyers of Russian ice cream in recent years. Shipments to Mongolia amounted to 559 tons (+ 54%) or US$ 1.4 million (+ 74%), to Ukraine - 260 tons (+ 24%) worth US$ 692 thousand (+ 31%).
