GD Prime Minister, Irakli Kobakhidze deeply believes that the 39% growth in foreign trade is a very important indicator for the country.
The point is that in January 2025 the external merchandise trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia, increased by 39.3% year-on-year, while the imports stood at USD 1.6 million (45.5 percent higher). As of the data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat), the growth was made at the expense of painting imports. The top import commodities in January 2025 were Paintings, drawings and pastels (executed entirely by hand), whose imports equaled USD 481.1 million (30% of the total imports).
"We have very good indicators in terms of foreign trade - Geostat published January 2025 data and foreign trade has increased by 39.3%, which is a very significant growth for our country," - Kobakhidze stated.
