The Economy Minister, Levan Davitashvili, expressed that interest in the Tbilisi Silk Road Forum this year is high, as never before.
“Originally initiated in 2015 by then-Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, the forum could not be held in recent years due to the pandemic. However, the current meeting has witnessed a notable increase in interest, indicating Georgia’s growing role in the region.
The forum, held once every two years, has attracted over 2,000 participants from 50 countries. It is not just the participation of high-level political officials, but we see a very high level of business activity.
We have delegations from America, the Middle East, China, Europe, and the countries of the region,” Davitashvili said
Davitashvili emphasized that Georgia’s stability, dynamic economic development, and attractiveness to investors contribute to the heightened interest in the forum.
“We expect successful business deals within the scope of the Tbilisi Silk Road Forum and insightful discussions between politicians on various topics, covering areas such as transport, the Middle Corridor perspectives, investment, trade, and finance,” he added.
Tbilisi hosts the Silk Road Forum for the fourth time, featuring more than 2,000 delegates and guests from 60 countries. The event includes ten thematic panel sessions and parallel discussions on crucial trade, economic, and connectivity topics.
