Georgian Post LLC has appointed a new Director General, Giorgi Eradze, who replaces Levan Chikvaidze. Chikvaidze had led the company since 2012, making him the longest-serving head among state-owned enterprises in Georgia.
According to the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, Eradze brings significant managerial experience in postal, transport, and forwarding services. He holds an academic degree in international law and has earned several international certificates in cargo transportation safety management systems, information and aviation security, as well as hospitality and tourism management.
Before joining Georgian Post, Eradze served as General Director of the private logistics company Space Cargo. Founded in 2018 and fully owned by Teona Kobalia, the company specializes in air logistics services. In its 2023 financial report, Space Cargo reported revenues of 9.6 million GEL and a profit of 1.3 million GEL.
Alongside the leadership change, Georgian Post also adjusted the salary of its chief executive. While former director Levan Chikvaidze received an annual salary of 135,000 GEL from the Post and its subsidiary Express, Giorgi Eradze’s annual compensation has been set at 168,000 GEL.
Georgian Post is a fully state-owned joint-stock company and the country’s largest postal organization, operating 79 service centers and employing up to 3,000 people nationwide. In 2023, the company reported revenues of 70.5 million GEL but recorded a loss of 3 million GEL.
