Exports of natural grape wines from Georgia hit a record high in January-April. The country received an income of USD 78 million 604 thousand from the sale of wine, which was 30.2% higher compared to the same period of 2022.
According to official statistics, among the largest exporting products, wine occupies the fourth place with a 4%-share.
During the first four months of 2023, wine exports from Georgia to Russia was also at a record level. This year, 19,044 tons of wine worth USD 52.3 million were sold in Russia from Georgia. Accordingly, dependence on the market increased to 66.6%. In January-April 2022, the share of Russian wine exports was 55.7%. In addition, sales of goods in this direction increased by 55.5% compared to January-April last year.
